After conducting thorough testing of the water in the affected areas, the Town of Wytheville’s Water Treatment Plant has been able to confirm that there is no hazard or contamination present. These results allow for the Boil Water Notice to be lifted effective immediately, and the regular use and consumption of water to resume as normal. The Town of Wytheville’s Public Utilities and Engineering Department will conduct water line repairs on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and continuing until approximately 3:30 p.m.

This work will require a temporary interruption of water service in the following areas:

• Holston Road (North 4th Street to 925 Holston Road)

• Van-Mar Drive (Holston Road to Wythe View Drive)

• Wythe View Drive (Dead End to Cove Road)

• Maple Lane (Wythe View Drive to Dead End)

• Hickory Lane (Wythe View Drive to Dead End)

• Cove Road (Wythe View Drive to Hill Crest Road)

• Hill Crest Road (Cove Road to Dead End)

The water line being repaired is located in the center of Holston Road near 315 Holston Road. As a result, Holston Road will be completely closed to thru traffic during the repair period. Motorists will not be able to travel between Cove Road and North 4th Street and should plan to use alternative routes.

Signage will be posted at:

• The intersection of North 4th Street and Holston Road

• The intersection of Van-Mar Drive and Holston Road

Road barricades will be placed:

• Just northeast of the entrance to 245 Holston Road

• Just northeast of the entrance to 315 Holston Road

The Town asks citizens to avoid the area and use alternate routes. This will help utility crews complete the repairs as safely and efficiently as possible, minimizing the duration of service interruptions and travel impacts.

Due to the Christmas holiday, the refuse collection in the Town of Wytheville for Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and, Friday, December 26, 2025, will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025. The normal collection scheduled for Monday, December 29, 2025, will be held on that day. 

The Town of Wytheville’s Recycling Center located at 1025 South Third Street will not have an attendant on duty Wednesday, December 24, 2025, through Friday, December 26, 2025, due to the Christmas holiday. The attendant will return to assist citizens on Monday, December 29, 2025. Please note that when an attendant is not on duty, the Recycling Center's gates are closed, and items cannot be dropped off. 

The Town of Wytheville will pick up brush during the week of December 29, 2025, through January 2, 2026, on their regularly scheduled collection. During this brush collection week, the Town will pick up Christmas trees along with regular brush as a part of this scheduled event. Residents should place their Christmas tree along the street in front of their property but out of street right of way.
