Welcome to the Town of Wytheville Building Inspection Department.
The Building Inspection Department is responsible for administering and enforcing the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC) within the Town of Wytheville. Our goal is to help ensure that construction, renovation, alteration, and other building projects meet the minimum standards established to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our community.
Our department works with property owners, contractors, design professionals, and developers throughout the building process. We provide information, review permit applications and construction documents, conduct required inspections and assist with questions regarding code requirements and the permitting process.
The Town of Wytheville is currently operating under the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and the ICC A117.1 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities standards.
Our goal is not only to enforce the applicable codes, but also to provide professional, courteous, and helpful service to the citizens and businesses of Wytheville. We are committed to working with our community to promote safe, compliant, and quality construction throughout the Town.
