The Wall of Honor is comprised of four separate monuments: Wounded Warrior Memorial, War Memorial, Civic Monument and Sports Hall of Fame Monument.
The most sacred of the three Monuments is the War Memorial for those who were born or lived in Wythe County and who gave their lives in wars or military actions for the United States of America.
The Wounded Warrior Monument is located to the left of the War Memorial and is the newest of the monuments, dedicated in 2015. It honors men and women from all branches of the military who returned home from their services to this country with the physical and emotional wounds of war.
The Civic Monument honors those who have distinguished themselves and brought honor and recognition to Wythe County or those who have contributed to the betterment of Wythe County. They are elected annually from applications received from County citizens. The guidelines and application can be found here click here..
The Sports Hall of Fame monument recognizes those who were born or lived in Wythe County and have distinguished themselves in athletics.
